Breast Cancer is a hideous disease that affects 1 out of 8 women and is responsible for 3-4% of the deaths of women in the United States. Tragically, the women who die are often in the prime of their life. The consensus of the medical community is that once breast cancer spreads, it is invariably fatal so that the best method to contain this disease is to diagnosis early by doing screening breast exams and mammograms. Women with risk factors are advised to have more frequent screening and sometimes us more sophisticated testing.
